France has awarded 220MW of rooftop PV capacity in a 400MW tender.
54 projects from 26 companies were approved at an average price of EUR 98.2/MWh, down from the previous auction where the average price was EUR 99.95/MWh. The average price of rooftop PV auctions in France has been slowly decreasing, auction after auction, since reaching 104.5 EUR/MWh in August 2023.
Delivered PV capacity is also decreasing. The previous auction was in December 2024, when the French Ministry of Ecological Transition made 253 MW available for rooftop PV, against an announced demand of 300 MW.
Solar developer Urbasolar received the most capacity at 40.9 MW, followed by UNITe at 38.8 MW and GLP at 20.9 MW. Overall, Urbasolar has received the most capacity out of all the rooftop PV auctions held so far – 312 MW.
In France, another auction for 400MW of rooftop PV is due by the end of March.
